To all my congregation Elders :
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthank you for coming to my house so often because you were so concerned about me missing so many meetings.. ( actually, the only time you visited was when the circuit and district overseers were in town.
you really showed them how concerned you were about your sheep.
i now know that it is more of a duty than a concern.).

I hear you loud and clear. I have seen this sort of treatment and I have even experienced it myself.

WTBT$/JW's = AMWAY/MLM Schemes
by Darth Fader The Sequel inall of the wts tactics and procedures are based off of your most basic mlm (multi-level marketing) schemes.
take your pick of amway, or any of the other vitamin or financial mlm's.
they all work the exact same way.

Well, I am glad I am not the only one who sees these strong similarities between MLM and the JW's.

All of the WTS tactics and procedures are based off of your most basic MLM (multi-level marketing) schemes. Take your pick of Amway, or any of the other vitamin or financial MLM's. They all work the exact same way. The power structure, phony hierarchy, silly name tags and graduated titles, public recognition of high achievers, special delegates to conventions and gatherings, exclusive meetings for high achievers, special publications for certain "leaders", hyperbolic testimonials....... everything. EVERYTHING IS AMWAY WITH THE JW's!!!
The MLM scheme attracts two basic types of people: 1) those who are weak-minded, gullible and ignorant, bottom 50% in life/IQ/expectations, the easily addicted, those that seek out institutional control of their lives for safety and self-preservation. Or, 2) the high achievers who yearn for public recognition, institutional recognition, reverence and adoration, those who enjoy petty institutional structure so as to climb that contrived ladder and gain power and control over others weaker than them. That is it!!! That describes 90%+ of the JW's.

Why must we APPLY for everything?
by Tech49 ini was thinking about this today, after seeing another thread on the subject of serving in israel, of all places.
there have been many comments on the recent thread, and the ones a little older, about how utterly ridiculous that premise is.. the bigger question is why do i have to apply?
permission?

I am going to re-post my comment in a new thread so as not to hijack this one. The topic of why everything in Jdub-land must be "applied" for is a worthy one that annoys me greatly. My MLM correlations are a tangent that may be better off in a different thread.

Quitting abruptly will get you attention that you do not necessarily want. A "fade" is more gradual. Get people used to not seeing you there more often than they are used to seeing you there.

How do you overcome this JW excuse?
by EdenOne induring one of those meetings that took place before my jc, one of the elders, who was a good friend of mine back then and used to come up with a few outlandish personal views about some teachings, attempted to counter one of my arguments like this:.
eden - "well, if the truth doesn't change, why is it that what we teach as 'truth' has changed over the years (several examples given)?
how can we dogmatically claim at any given moment that we have 'the truth' if our teachings keep changing?".

Oh, by the way, I have had that EXACT same conversation several times with uber-dubs. It makes me want to set myself on fire.

EdenOne, I literally laughed out loud as I read your conversation with the "elder". I sure hope you can get a chuckle out of it now, too. That is some crazy talk there. CRAZY!!!

Why were no sea creatures destroyed in the flood?
by smiddy inall the animals on earth were destroyed in the flood of noahs day apart from those in the ark ,apparently no sea creatures were destroyed in the flood , why is that ?.
this is not an issue that only affects jehovahs witnesses , it is one that affects all beleivers that accept the bible as gods word.. obviously sea creatures were not put on the ark , no whales ,no dolphins , no fish , no krill , no plankton etc.
you can fill in the rest .. so my question is , why were land animals / birds singled out for destruction ?, what wrong did they do to deserve this judgement against them .

I get so uncomfortable, so embarrassed when I am around people who believe the Bible's version of Noah and the flood and defend it as if they have video proof of the whole thing. It is so contrary to common sense and scientific evidence.
